It was only as late as 2007 that Tushar started to engage in social work. This was at a mid-point in my maritime career when he hung up his sailing boots after 14 years in the Merchant Navy when he came to work ashore in ship management, logistics, ship-broking and now serving as a Director in a marine construction and engineering company. This was when Tushar was introduced to Rotary and the world of opportunities it opened to serve our community. In his most memorable year serving as the President of the club, he learned how giving is a deeply enriching and rewarding experience. The service projects he has been involved with ranged from the ultra-ambitious - like sponsoring a team of farmers from Maharashtra for a 3-week study tour to Israel, donating over 150 wheelchairs to the disabled to the smallest gestures of gifting used toys to the kids of a nearby municipal school.
